Maarten Keuten (1970) finished his bachelor on the International High school for Garden and Landscape Architecture in Boskoop in 1991. He started studying Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology in that same year. He graduated in 1996 on drinking water supply at this department. Maarten Keuten finished his masters thesis on swimming pool water treatment for the Netherlands Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM) at the consultant office of DHV in Amersfoort, supervised by J.C. van Dijk. Maarten Keuten has since then been working as R&D specialist and has experience in mono and multi disciplinary projects varying from consultancy and troubleshooting to research and education. His field of expertise is not just pool water treatment, but also heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, sanitary engineering, process automation, Legionella control and corrosion in swimming pools, hotels, health care centres and other complex utilities. He is currently working part-time on his PhD study, developing chlorine free pool water treatment at Delft University of Technology.
