Research Drinking with the wind Publications


Bas Heijman is associate professor in water treatment technology at the department of Water Management at the TU Delft.
He has almost 30 year's experience in water research. His PhD-thesis was about the stability of titanium dioxide pigments in water based paints.
In 1991 he was employed at Kiwa Water Research in Nieuwegein. Research topics were adsorption on activated carbon, ion exchange, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis.
In 2003 he started at the university for two days a week as a teacher and researcher.
His main research fields are membrane filtration and new treatment concepts in drinking water, waste water and industrial water treatment. He is (co-)author of about 100 peer reviewed papers and his H-index is 21.

He is course leader of:

  • Design of waste water and drinking water treatment plants
  • Chemical processes in water technology
  • ProfEd membrane filtration (online course)
