Appointment emeritus Professor S. Kroonenberg as visiting Professor in Suriname

Prof. Dr Salomon Kroonenberg, retired professor of geology at TU Delft, has been appointed from February 1, 2017 onward as visiting professor at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname, Faculty Technological Sciences, Department Production of Mineral Resources.

Prof. Dr Salomon Kroonenberg, retired professor of geology at TU Delft, has been appointed from February 1, 2017 onward as visiting  professor at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname, Faculty Technological Sciences, Department Production of Mineral Resources. Since a couple of years he is supervising the research projects of BSc and MSc students in the greenstone belt, the economically most important part of the Precambrian Guiana Shield in Suriname because of the occurrence of gold, diamond and other mineral resources. Recently he was co-editor of a special issue of the Netherlands Journal of Geosciences/Geologie en Mijnbouw, entirely dedicated to the geology of Suriname (2016, volume 95, number 4).
