Macrolab / Stevinlaboratory

The Stevin Laboratory of the Department of Structural Engineering comprises a structures laboratory, a road and pavement laboratory, a rail laboratory and a laboratory for recycling. The laboratory is very well equipped with unique facilities.

In the laboratory, researchers conduct experimental research, which is used to create and validate models and to compare experimental results with simulations. In the laboratory, also contract research is performed for (international) authorities, other research centers and commercial companies. The laboratory has an experienced support staff for the design and construction of the test beds and for the manufacturing and testing of test specimens and structures. The technicians use internally developed, customized control and measurement software.
