On Thursday June 8 alumni are cordially invited to an afternoon of discovery in the faculty labs.  Following an introduction by dean Bert Geerken students will take you on a tour of the water lab, the construction lab and the geo lab where researchers will tell you all about their current projects. Riverbeds, flumes, a replica of a house to measure the effects of earthquakes are some of the experimental environments on show.
In addition there will be soap box sessions during which newly appointed professors will pitch their research projects. Student association Het Gezelschap "Practische Studie", will be organising two lectures with guest alumni, after which it will be time for drinks at faculty café PSOR.

Prior to the lab visits you have the opportunity to visit the TU Delft Research Exhibition. You will have to register separately for this event via the website

Lectures under the auspices of student association Het Gezelschap "Practische Studie"



em. Prof.Dipl.-Ing. Jan Vambersky
Jan Vamberský is emeritus professor of Commercial and Industrial Building and an honourable member of student association Het Gezelschap "Practische Studie", whose housing history will be the subject of his speech. Providing the association with its present abode necessitated sawing through some reinforced beams and frantic calculations ensued to ensure the faculty building did not collapse.  

Ir. Ronald de Heer
Ronald de Heer, chair of the 15th lustrum commission of "Practische Studie", will be explaining why the ‘Ports in the Delta’ congress of 1969 had such an impact.
